May 2012

Even thought it was past his birthday, it ended up working out better to have his party a few weeks later.  He and all of his friends enjoyed a "Super Hero" of a party at the Discovery Gateway.

Mother's Day in Logan
Tabea and Grandma Gessel getting acquainted for the first time.

My growing little girl.  It doesn't take long for my babies to start getting big
and Miss Tabea is no exception.
 14th of the month

 20th of the month
Solar Eclipse.  I was a little party pooper and wouldn't travel to see the eclipse.
Instead we went over to the school and watched it there.
We were joined unexpectedly by some friends
and then went across the street to see the telescope method.

I thought that this was so sweet.  I was busy sewing a costume for the school play.
Evan wanted to take care of Tabea...instead he put himself and her asleep.

Evan graduated from Pre-K.  He had such an amazing year and learned a ton.
He has been kind of silly lately and played the shy card a lot.

To end the month...the 1st, 2nd, and 5th grade ELP classes put on
"The Wizard of Oz"

April 2012

April has kind of been crazy.  Getting used to a new baby has been quite the adventure after not having one in the house for 5 years.  It has been well worth the sleepless nights.

As per tradition...Tabea received her own stuffed animals.

Our sweet little girl

Todd had the honors of giving Tabea her first bath.
Can you see the adoration in her eyes for her dad?
Yes...just like Elizabeth...she has her dad wrapped around her little finger.

Easter was a nice affair.  New Sunday attire is always nice.

Since it was such a nice day, we decided to go downtown
and take some pictures at Temple Square.

It is hard for me to believe that Evan is now 5 years old.
Where did the time go?  He seems to have grown up overnight.
Boy was he excited to get his very own video game and controllers.
He enjoyed sharing his day with chocolate dipped strawberries and chocolate frogs with his class.
Evan is getting really good at lighting candles and asks to do it every time.

What happens on Sundays.
Start with a nap and then become two happy people.

We had a nice afternoon strolling through Memory Grove Park and then up the trail.

The Lilacs were very fragrant and made for a lovely backdrop.

Tabea Ann Draper

Tabea joined our family on the 23rd.  We had met with the doctor on the 22nd and decided to do an induction on the 28th.  Todd and I had spoken with both of our parents and made arrangements for the 28th.  We were going to finish up with our preparations the following morning.  Instead, my water broke at 3:30am, we woke Austin up at 3:45 letting him know what was going on, and then headed up the hospital.

Tabea was born at 12:14pm

Her first visitors were her aunt Whitney and uncle Ryan.

Then Grandpa and Grandma Rindlisbacher brought up the kids to meet the new addition.
Each of the kids loved having their turn to hold her.

She wasn't quite sure what to think about her first bath.

March 2012

This month was filled with all the activities that the kids had to do.

Elizabeth and her class performed their opera 'Aliens in the Jungle'.
Dorothy was the accompanist and had been practicing with them for about a month.

Then Geoffrey participated in a Pinewood Derby...receiving recognition for the best 'piggy bank'
...this was due to the amount of coinage he had to add to his car.

Then in order to finish up his requirements for cub scouts...he had to cook a meal outdoors.
Todd helped him cook dutch oven potatoes and steaks on the grill.
We ended the evening with S'mores...Yummy.
It ended up being a fun St. Patrick's Day activity.

The month ended rather unexpectedly...Tabea joined the family early.
