Chasing Rockets

We have been chasing after the Ares rocket to watch them test the booster.

The first time we had the wrong date and had to come back on the 27th of August.

Having lunch in the car isn't so bad once you get everyone settled.

We arrived early so that we would have a good spot to watch.

The crowd was huge and everyone was standing around as the clock counted down.

At 20 seconds before the test there ended up being a malfunction
and they scrubbed the test and rescheduled.

Finally on Sept. 10th was were able to watch ATK test the booster.

We got there later than the last time, and thought that maybe they had canceled the test,

because hardly anyone was there.

In some ways it was better not having to wait so long for the test to start.

The kids enjoyed their lunch and then we found us a good viewing area to watch the test.
Just after we passed the 20 second mark the crowd went crazy.

Then there was the count down...

It was amazing!

Pretty Princess

Elizabeth just celebrated her 4th birthday.

It is amazing how quickly the time has gone by.

She really enjoyed opening presents and Evan couldn't wait to help.

Last year she had a castle cake, but she was adamant that she had a princess cake this year.

For a first attempt, I don't think that I did a bad job.
It was messy making the marshmallow fondunt,
but fun getting in there learning something new.

I don't think I had enough breath, let me try again.

Since she and her Grandma Draper have birthdays so close together,

she also thought that Grandma needed a princess cake also.

Dinosuar Adventures

In an attempt to see a rocket test we ended up going the wrong day.
As a result, we stopped in at the Dinosaur Park in Ogden.
The kids had a blast seeing everything there.
It was a fun time to spend as a family.

Tasty morsel...yum yum yum.

You cannot make me smile!

Pre-K days

Monday was Elizabeth's orientation for Pre-K.

She was so excited to go and meet her teachers.

She has had a great week in class and really enjoyed
what she has been learning with Ms. Dee and Ms. Marta.

Evan became a budding artist while we were there

and has been upset that Elizabeth gets to go to class
and he has to go back home with his mom.
