At the beginning of the year, Todd scheduled a weekend in Moab. In May, all of the KOA's have a free camp day. Before we knew it, May was here and it was time to get ready for camping. It was at this time, that Todd realized that it ended up being during Mother's Day weekend.
We left later than planned on Friday, but were able to see some of the sights before setting up camp at the KOA. The weather was nice and mild the first day, great for hiking and seeing the sights.
We started our hiking adventures by going on the Park Avenue T
rail. The trail starts by going down about 50 stairs before getting to the bottom. On the last step, Elizabeth fell down and scraped her knee, she had had enough of hiking. So she and I went back to the car, drove it around to the end of the trail and met Todd and the boys at the Courthouse Towers viewpoint.

After seeing this sight, Austin began finding all the things that looked like Balanced Rock. Even was really good about walking most of the way around Balanced Rock with a little help. We then headed to the Parade of Elephants and Double Arch. Elizabeth favorite part of the whole trip was playing in all of the fine sand on the trails. Geoffrey on the other hand was constantly trying to get the sand out of his shoes, even when we told him that he was just going to be getting more in his shoes.
On Saturday we went to Hole 'N The Rock, which was very interesting. Because they take you on a tour of the home, you can't take photos inside. After taking the tour of the 
home and walking the grounds, we headed back to Arches and Devil's Garden. I don't think Austin knew what he was getting himself into when he said that he wanted to go there. After the hike to Double O and back he said that he didn't want to ever go there again. The hike was really beautiful, but Austin just didn't like the fact that he had to go on the fins to ge to Double O Arch. After a 4 mile round trip hike, the kids were finished and there was no way we could go on any other hikes. We had wanted to possible go swimming, but the KOA's pool wasn't open and the city pool was already closed. Instead we played at the park and then headed to dinner.

h Lower viewpoint and took pictures with Flat Stanley. A quick stop at the visitors center and then it was on the road back to home. We made a pit stop at home to bathe the kids and then it was on to Logan for a family dinner. Other than a lot of driving, it was a fun day.

The kids do really well even on the long hikes and they talk about it later on.
